Dr. Cravens was born in Kansas City and raised in Fulton, Missouri, where his early exposure to medicine came through watching his father care for patients as a family practice physician. From a young age, he was drawn to science and problem-solving, and seeing medicine practiced with compassion and accessibility made becoming a physician feel both inspiring and attainable. As his career evolved, he became intrigued by the technological and innovative aspects of medicine, which led him to pursue a surgical specialty.

He is board certified in Colon & Rectal Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Cravens is committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centered care and believes that the best outcomes occur when patients are active partners in their treatment. He prioritizes clear communication and takes pride in ensuring that every patient fully understands their diagnosis, the reasoning behind their treatment options, and the overall care plan. By fostering understanding and collaboration, he helps patients feel informed, confident, and supported throughout their care journey.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cravens enjoys traveling with his wife, often exploring new destinations through their local food culture. He is an avid reader and movie enthusiast, with a particular love for science fiction, though he appreciates many genres. Most importantly, he values time with his family and enjoys sharing adventures, big and small, with them.
